Small Acts Of Kindness

14th Dec 2016

It’s that time again! Most of us are running around trying to find that special gift for everyone on our list. The cars honk loudly, the people push rudely in the stores- it all seems to be the antithesis of the what the season should inspire.

But the other night, when my husband came home and recounted the story of his experience at the pharmacy, my heart was warmed. The elderly woman in front of him did not have enough money to pay for her prescription and she had traveled a long bus ride to get there. She was about to turn around and leave when my husband pulled out his credit card and gave it to the store clerk. The woman was so surprised and appreciative at this stranger’s small act of kindness.

It reminded me of a time long ago, when I had had a particularly bad day at a trade show and was having dinner alone in New York. When I got ready to pay the bill, the waitress told me that the elderly couple in the back had paid it for me. They said I reminded them of their daughter.

Small acts of kindness are remembered and rewarding for all involved.

The giving is the best part of the Holiday Season!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all!
