Be Like the Hardy Hibiscus

I’m often asked which quotation or inspirational saying is my favorite from my line of handmade cards.
I would have to say it is style number 144 “Fall Seven times, Stand up eight.” I paint eight pieces of colored tissue paper on 100% recycled paper card stock. The inside message says: “Don’t give up.”
This card reminds me of my Hardy Hibiscus flower.
I have clay dirt in my flowerbeds, and the Hardy Hibiscus was recommended as a good candidate for my environment.
I was not prepared, however, for it’s tall, sprawling branches in my small flowerbed and eventually decided it had to go. I had it removed and was surprised when it grew back the next year next to my other flowers. I couldn’t let it take over again, so I had it relocated it to a another location where it had more room. However, after the bad weather I was saddened to see it looking withered and dead. I decided to leave it alone. Wouldn’t you know by the start of the summer it had perked up and started to grow at an alarming rate. It reached the top of my fence and look at it now- bursting with blooms!
So lesson learned, be like the hardy hibiscus, don’t give up!
