Foreign Language Christmas Cards
Posted by Lydia Land on 31st Oct 2014
I have always felt privileged to have grown up speaking two languages fluently. As a child, speaking Italian was almost like having a secret language. My sisters and I would converse in Italian when we didn’t want someone nearby to eavesdrop on our discussions. It always worked, even though in our neighborhood, Italian was still spoken by some, mostly older, residents.
We are all linked in some way to the languages of our families, even if we do not often speak, read or write in them. For instance, have you ever searched for a greeting card written your ancestral language to give to a grandparent or overseas relative? For my family and yours, I have created a selection of Christmas cards featuring sentiments in French, German, Polish, Spanish, and of course, Italian.
You can find my foreign-language Christmas cards at lydiasland.com, where you can also find my latest Italian Birthday style, created especially for my aunt. Ciao!
