Pope Francis is coming to town!

The World meeting of Families is almost upon us! How fortunate we are here in the Delaware Valley to be part of this historic event.

I can't help but remember the last Papal visit to Philadelphia in 1979. I was attending Moore College of Art when Pope John II was scheduled to come and I was thrilled to have the best seat in the house. Since Moore overlooks Logan Square, we were not far from the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul. The day of the historic visit, my boyfriend traveled from South Jersey to join me and had no problem whatsoever joining the crowd.  I looked out of the windows of Moore and gazed at the sea of people swarming the Parkway and felt excited. It was amazing and there was very little security that we were aware of, no preparations blasted the media – it just miraculously happened!

Let's hope for another Miracle- everything goes well; no major traffic snafus; the crowds are content, and everything that The World Meeting of Families hopes to accomplish, takes place and enriches us all.

Here at Lydia’s Land we offer a variety of inspirational cards & gifts.
